best of 2018: makeup edition
Last year I did some posts on my favourite skincare and makeup products of 2017 so I thought I'd do another for 2018! One of my goals from last year was to step out of my comfort zone with my makeup and I definitely feel like I was able to do that by incorporating more colour into my looks!
Primer
I didn't really know whether to include this product in my skincare or makeup post but since I usually use it as a base for makeup I thought I'd add it here. I really love how moisturizing this product is and it also helps to reduce any redness I might be having.
Foundation
I included this in my favourites from last year but it's so good that I had to include it again! I love how it gives the skin such a dewy skin-like finish and gives light to medium coverage without feeling heavy.
Concealer
This concealer is amazing! Like the Cle CCC Cream, it gives the skin a super pretty dewy skin-like finish while still providing the perfect amount of coverage! A lot of people say it's pretty similar to Nars' Soft Matte Concealer.
Powder
I've never really been a fan of powders until I tried this one from Ohii! I love how it mattifies any areas on my face that might be a little shiny without looking cakey or heavy!
Blush
I've been obsessed with blush this year since it just makes your skin look so much brighter and glowy! I use a combo of cloud paint in puff and the fenty beauty match stix to get the perfect sunkissed look by applying them both of the apples of my cheeks and across the bridge of my nose. (ps Yacht Lyfe is definitely a dupe for Nars Orgasm blush)
Eye Shadow
As I said before I've been experimenting with colourful eyeshadow a lot more this year and found some amazing products! Lidstar is the perfect everyday shadow since it looks super pretty and subtle when worn alone but can be layered for a bolder look! My favourite shades are Lily, Slip, and Cub! The Ohii beauty palettes have really unique colours with nice pigmentation and they blend super easily!
Mascara
I love how this mascara makes my lashes look super fluttery and long! It's not the most volumizing mascara which makes it perfect for everyday looks! It's also super easy to remove which is a big bonus!
Brows
The perfect clear brow gel! I wasn't a super big fan of Glossier Boy Brow when I tried it (maybe because it was tinted? and made my brows feel stiff) so I was a little hesitant about trying this but I'm so glad I did! It's lightweight and also multipurpose meaning you can use it for flyaways as well!
Lips
Super moisturizing, cute, and they smell amazing! Coconut and birthday are my favourites!
Definitely my favourite lip product of the year and absolutely worth the hype! I love how glossy they are without ever being sticky and how they can be worn alone or on top of other lip products!
Love the formula of these stains since they have such pretty colour payoff and stay on for soo long! They also smell amazing!
