a full review of versed skincare

I have been a huge fan of Versed for the past few years since they launched and I've been really impressed with their products! All their products are around $20 and available on their website, Target, and Shoppers Drug Mart. I love their transparency and their goal of making skincare more accessible through education and lower prices. Their products are vegan, cruelty-free and they have a whole list of ingredients that aren't included in their products such as artificial fragrance, mineral oil, and parabens. Versed also have a skin decoder on their website to help you find the best products for your skin type and concerns which I found super helpful!

I think this is a really great affordable cleansing balm! It gets off all my makeup without stripping my skin at all! I don't use this on my eyes because I don't like the film that it tends to leave behind, but I haven't found a cleansing balm that I can use on my eyes yet so this doesn't really bother me. It does have a strong menthol/eucalyptus scent so just be aware if that's something you're sensitive to.

This is such a great cleanser if you have acne prone skin! It foams up slightly (but isn't drying) and it helps to calm down any break outs! Definitely a favourite of mine!

I wasn't sure if I was going to be a fan of this cleanser at first but now I'm obsessed! It's perfect in the summer or as a morning cleanse. Simple, gentle, and affordable!

If I had to pick a favourite Versed cleanser (an extremely difficult question because I love them all) it might have to be this one! I love this one in the wintertime since it's hydrating and gentle on sensitive skin. It's also great as a second cleanse!

This is my favourite of the two toners! It's just a simple hydrating toner that feels super soothing on the skin! Great for every day.

This toner is also really nice! It's a gentle exfoliating toner and I use it about 3-4 times a week since it's not very strong. Great to help with pigmentation.

I was a beginner to retinol (before starting tretinoid) and this is a great starter retinol! It's very gentle and doesn't irritate my skin at all. I like using this on days when I'm having a lot of texture or need a good exfoliation because it clears it right up. I'm not currently using it while on tretinoid but will definitely keep it in my collection til I can use it again.

I love a good exfoliating product and this one is very nice! It has lactic and glycolic acid in it which I find is a lot gentler on my skin than some exfoliating products. You apply this on bare skin and the texture is cream-like. Definitely great if you're a beginner to exfoliating acids. It lasts a really long time as well.

Brightening serums are essentials in my skincare routine and I really liked this one! I definitely saw an improvement in my hyperpigmentation while using this, although not as much as some vitamin c's. It's definitely not the strongest vitamin c serum I've ever used but it's nice if you're just getting into it! No irritation and the texture is nice.

This is a treatment product to help with hyperpigmentation. I'll be honest and say I haven't been super consistent with using this one just because I prefer a vitamin c everyday but the texture of this is really nice! I definitely am going to try this out during the summer to help fade any sun spots that pop up.

One of my favourite serums from Versed! It's a light watery texture that helps to calm and soothe any breakouts that pop up. It's a good one to use everyday with nice ingredients.

This is a super unique product! It looks like an oil but feels like a serum on the skin! Super hydrating and makes your skin so glowy!

This is a serum for well-aging so I gave this one to my mom to use! She really enjoyed it! It helps to firm the skin and prevent damage since it has antioxidants. A good affordable well-aging product.

If you're looking for a super simple nighttime moisturizer, this is perfect for that! I feel like most thicker moisturizers tend to be scented so I love that this one isn't! It has squalane and red algae extract which feel super hydrating! It's more of a medium consistency in terms of thickness which makes it absorb nicely into the skin. Overall, just a really nice basic moisturizer that I feel would be great for sensitive skin!

This is my go-to summer moisturizer! I love gel-creams for the warmer weather cause I find my skin doesn't need as much hydration so this is perfect! It's light but still hydrating, works well under makeup, and is very affordable! I think if you have oily skin this would be great for you all year round!

This is another product targeted towards well-aging. I found this wasn't quite hydrating enough for my skin so I passed it on to my mom and she loved it!

I was so excited to see that Versed was launching an spf because it's the most important step in a skincare routine but sadly this didn't end up working for me. It's a mineral sunscreen using zinc oxide and it made me realize that I definitely prefer a chemical sunscreen. Although this doesn't have a white cast on me (it has a peachy tint) it feels very heavy on the skin and is hard to spread because of how thick it is. That could definitely be a plus for some people because it helps ensure you're applying a lot of spf. I've tested this over top of my skincare and under makeup and it pills on me every time. Even on bare skin if you rub over where you've applied the sunscreen after it dries down it starts to pill up and come off which I really don't like. Definitely a pass for me as there are sunscreens that I like way more for a similar price point.

To me, the products that stand out the most in this collection are the face masks! This is such a great mask especially if you have dry skin. It has rosehip seed oil and aloe leaf juice which feel cooling and soothing on the skin! I like to use this for double masking after a detox or clay based mask to rehydrate my skin. The mask is a gel-like consistency and does feel a little sticky but it's easy to wash off. I feel like it could be a good affordable alternative to the Summer Fridays Jet Lag mask even though the consistencies are different!

I have a lot of acne scarring at the moment so I have really been enjoying this mask to help fade my dark spots! It has turmeric and kaolin clay to gently exfoliate the skin and leave it super soft! Such a great affordable mask that I am super impressed with since you can see and feel some of the results right away!

I love this face mask since it exfoliates and brightens the skin in under 5 minutes! This is a super unique texture (like jello) and it feels cooling on the skin. You only need to leave it on for around 3 minutes for pretty instant results!

I would consider this more of a treatment than a cleanser since it mainly exfoliates. It's a very fine (almost sand-like) exfoliant that I ended up using on my body since I prefer a chemical exfoliant for my face. It smells very herbal and lemon-y.

Another brightening product from Versed! This one I don't get huge brightening effects from but not many brightening eye creams work for my dark circles probably because they're genetic. I still really enjoy this eye cream because it's hydrating and feels cooling under the eyes which helps to depuff! Plus it's very affordable for an eye cream!

This is a good affordable eye cream if you're looking to target fine lines and firm the under eye. This is definitely a balm texture and has a slightly oily texture. At the moment I prefer a hydrating gel texture eye cream, but it just depends what you're looking to target.

Body oils have been a recent discovery of mine and I'm obsessed! They feel super luxe and relaxing, perfect for when you're looking to treat yourself! This one has calendula flower extract and ylang-ylang oil which does give it a slightly floral scent (even though it says fragrance-free.) I think the scent is the only thing I dislike about this product. It's not a super-strong fragrance but it's just one that I don't personally enjoy. Other than that, it's a great body oil! It comes with a spray applicator which is super handy! It absorbs nicely and hydrates without leaving too much of a greasy feel!

I was very excited to try this product out because it has a mist applicator. And let me tell you that mist applicator is a game changer! The mist is super fine and makes it so easy to apply to hard to reach spots! It's been working really well to help calm down and reduce body breakouts! I do find it a little sticky upon application and it does take a bit to dry down but I can get past that for the results! It has has a strange smell but that's probably because Versed doesn't add fragrance to their products which I prefer.

I really enjoy this body lotion for the summer since it's lightweight and helps to fade acne scarring! It sinks in really nicely and doesn't have a scent. The key with a product like this to notice results is definitely consistency.

This was my first time trying dermaplaning and I'm obsessed now! It was way easier and safer then I expected! It removes peach fuzz and dead skin on your face without any irritation, and it leaves your skin so soft! Plus the hair doesn't grow back darker or thicker which I was a bit worried about.

This is definitely a lot different from other lip oils I've tried. It's a thicker consistency and is a little sticky which isn't my favourite! It has jojoba oil and vitamin e so it does keep my lips feeling hydrated throughout the day!

Silk Slip Tinted Lip Oils $9.99 each or $25.99 for all three

I'm so happy they launched tinted versions of the og lip oil because the formula is a lot better! The tinted version doesn't feel as thick or sticky to me. The three shades are super pretty and also very wearable! Blossom is a cute pink shade, Fig is a neutral berry shade (I like that it's not super intense), and Ruby is a cherry red shade. I think out of the three Fig is my favourite because it's definitely been getting the most use!

If you're a fan of glowy skin you need this! It can be used by itself or under foundation and gives a beautiful (non glittery) glow! I just wish they had a few more shades since the lightest is still a bit dark for me in the winter.

Overall, I'm super impressed with Versed! A lot of their products have become staples in my skincare routine and I love seeing their new launches! I think at this price point and with all the care and research that went into their formulas, you really can't go wrong in trying out their products!
